The control is to be used in accordance with the directions accompanying the assay procedure being used. While following these directions, the control serum is to be treated in the same manner a patient specimen would be treated. The results obtained for the control are to be compared with the assigned values given in the Quality Control Data Page of the package insert. An evaluation can then be made using standard statistical techniques to determine if the procedure is under control.
