Ion Max Source
The Ion Max ion source enhances the performance with efficient ion sampling.  The universal Finnigan Ion Max  source features rapidly interchangeable ESI (electrospray ionization) and APCI (atmospheric pressure chemical ionization) probes. Dramatic advances in APCI mode performance and ease of use arise from an ultra high temperature, self-cleaning ceramic APCI heater, which greatly diminishes chemical background noise.

The Ion Max source's revolutionary design imparts superior performance and allows interchangeability between the LTQ FT (hybrid linear ion trap-FT ICR) and Finnigan TSQ Quantum Ultra (triple quadrupole) mass spectrometers. 

The Ion Max universal source enhances the performance of the new Finnigan mass spectrometers by providing extremely efficient ion sampling.  It features rapidly interchangeable ESI (electrospray ionization) and APCI (atmospheric pressure chemical ionization) probes. Dramatic advances in APCI mode performance and ease of use arise from an ultra high temperature, self-cleaning ceramic APCI heater, which greatly diminishes chemical background noise, a quick release APCI nozzle, and x, y. z positioning screws which make optimization of the APCI needle position routine.
