| Thermo Fisher Scientific offers a Wide Range Logarithmic Nuclear Instrumentation Channel that provides monitoring of neutron flux over greater than ten decades of operation from cold shutdown to 200% full power. This channel is available in 4 different configurations, differing in the number of front panel displays. The 5-display model (TR-10-5) as shown provides Source and Wide Range levels and periods and a Power Range level. The 4-display model (TR-10-4) provides Source and Wide Range levels and periods. The 3-display model (TR-10-3) provides Wide Range level and period and a Power Range level.
Power Range Monitor (TR-20)
The TR-10M model is NIM mounted and provides Wide Range level and period. All of our TR-10 systems can use either guarded or unguarded Fission Chamber detectors.
The TR-20M Modular Power Range Monitor is NIM mounted and provides the high voltage for either a gamma ion chamber or an uncompensated ion chamber and accepts the input current signal for processing of the linear Power Range level of the reactor from 0 to 125 (or 150) % full power
The TR-20MP Modular Pulsing Power Range Monitor is also NIM mounted and measures both the steady state reactor power and the power achieved during a reactor pulse (peak power and energy released) for those reactors with pulsing capabilities.
Log & Linear Power Monitor (TR-30)
The Log and Linear Power Monitor provides measurement of neutron flux covering up to 8 decades from 10-6 to 125% of full rated power. The signal processor processes the input current from the detector using both a logarithmic and linear amplifier. There are 2 models. One has a logarithmic amplifier that provides a logarithmic output over 8 decades, from 10-6 to 100% of full rated power. The other model has a logarithmic amplifier that provides a logarithmic output over 6 decades, from 10-12 to 10-6 Amps of power. Both models have a linear amplifier which provides a linear output from 0-125% of full rated power. The rate of change of the logarithmic output is further processed to provide an indication of the reactor period over the entire range of neutron flux monitoring. This signal covers the range of -30 to +3 seconds (other scales such as Percent/Second or Decades per Minute are available).
Wide Range Linear Monitor (TR-40)
The TR-40 is a multi-ranging linear channel that includes a signal processor with the ability to monitor reactor power over 9 decades on a linear scale. This unit has also been designed for use with a Flux Controller (TR-40F) that provides the necessary interface between a Power Demand Potentiometer, the Wide Range Linear Power measurement, and a Motor Control unit to provide precise control of reactor power level through the regulating control rod. The unit includes the capability to automatically change ranges or be controlled manually by the operator. The unit may also be controlled locally from the front panel if it is mounted within reach of the operator, or it may be operated remotely.
Modular Source Range Monitor (TR-60M)
Modular Source Range Monitor is provided in a standard NIM enclosure. The assembly includes the High Voltage necessary to operate a fission chamber (unguarded or guarded) or BF-3 proportional counter; the Low Voltage supply necessary for the signal processing electronics, and a preamplifier and discriminator circuit to process the signal from the neutron detector. The pulses developed from the neutron detector are passed to a Log Count Rate circuit that develop a 0-10 V signal to represent a power level of 0.1 to 105 CPS. The rate of change of the power level is also analyzed and the Period is measured from -30 to +3 seconds (corresponding to 0-10V). |
