The centrifuge module fully automates the centrifugation process by automatically balancing, loading and unloading the centrifuge. One system can include up to 3 centrifugation modules depending on the laboratory’s throughput requirements.
The automated system reduces user input and standardizes the entire sample handling process. The system also improves personnel safety by reducing the risk of exposure to biohazards.
The Centrifuge Module automatically transfers the tubes into the centrifuge racks using robotic arm and an auto-balance feature. The racks are placed (/removed) into the centrifuge using another robotic arm. The third robotic arm simultaneously transfers tubes from the removed racks back into the Multitube carriers, which are released into the main conveyor. A Hettich Rotanta centrifuge is used (max 4x24 tubes/ load).
The workload is automatically balanced between different centrifugation modules thus improving and ensuring steady sample flow. Centrifugation parameters, like spin time and temperature are user definable.
